While scanning the film from my time out with the Yashica J3, I noticed on some of the images a mark.
Initially I thought the source of the problem was the Epson v370 scanner . However on closer inspection I discovered the mark was actually on the negative.
The marks appears on half of the images randomly through the roll of film. But they appear in the same place and the same regular shape but with different levels of intensity.
I then wondered if the cloth shutter curtain on the J3 might have a tear. Was this causing the mark on the film as it lay in the camera? The curtain seems to be ok, so I don’t think it can be that.
I discounted the light seals as I had replaced them in the same way as all previous cameras.
But what else could it be??
