During a recent session of scanning, to my dismay, I noticed a thin purple line running across part of some but not all images. In the image above, I have drawn a rectangle around the offending line.
Increasing or decreasing the image resolution made no difference, as seen below, except that the line has now moved??

Scanning the image on its own made no difference either.
Now of course the blemish can be easily removed with a clone/blemish tool in an image editing program. But it is annoying.
More important though, why is it happening?
I own a V300, same body as your V370. I had the same problem from time to time. My memory is that I had to clean the glass to within an inch of its life, especially where the light bar begins its travel, and that would clear this up. Super frustrating and it happened a lot.

Many thanks for your input. Yes I believe , if my research is correct, the little blank in the negative holder is like a calibrating area for the scanner to do its work. Oh the joys of film photography😜
