Spending more time at home due to the Covid pandemic has allowed my family more time to observe things in and around our garden. Over the last few weeks in particular we have had a number of birds regularly make a stop during the course of their activities. The following photos have been taken by various members of the family, who have given me permission to show their images.
We have two Robins that have become very comfortable in our garden. So much so that they arrive for their breakfast, dry oats, much the same time every day. They will come up to the backdoor if we are slow to respond.
The blackbird seems to have noticed the ‘breakfast’ that is provided for the Robins and has recently started to take advantage of this.
Unusal to see a lone Redwing in the neighbours tree, but a most welcome sight.
The early morning light at this time of the year is really special and I was drawn to the silhouette of the two sparrows, or were they Blue tits?
This was one of the first times we have ever seen a Blackcap in the garden. We must be doing something right. As much as I enjoy traveling about taking photos, it is a salutary reminder to enjoy what is literally on my doorstep.
