I am currently in the midst of a move. Perhaps not the best timing for such an endeavour, but not an uncommon experience for many I’m told. However this is a move not just down the road. Oh no that would be far to simple. I am moving from the the south of England to settle in the North West of England a distance of over 200 miles.
Even though I am excited by the many changes and prospects this will bring, I’m realistically expecting that there will be a share of challenges. I’m also painfully aware of the increased stress this brings to my life and those of my loved ones.
Added to this, a close relative has been informed they have end of life Alzheimers. Being positive, compassionate and sympathetic can have its toll on everybody involved.
This will not come as a surprise but I have found, among many things, my 365 film project has been an invaluable aid in maintaining stability during these rough seas. Yes spending a brief moment each day taking a photo allows me to maintain some clarity of thought. I predominantly take photos of nature. As a result I will often take a walk to or about some nice location. Perhaps this process allows me to keep in mind how precious but also how fleeting the essence of life can be.
Whatever, I will continue to do so as I feel in a good place to then be of assistance to those who need it.
