365 Film Project

Why? What is my purpose? I could give a deep and meaningful answer. Yet the simple answer is because I have never tried to take a photo a day for a year before and liked the idea of the challenge and thought it would be fun. In addition I was looking for a way to use some of my favourite cameras more regularly, while continuing to try and review new cameras (to me)

So how will I go about the project given the fact that I have to develop my images? I could wait a month, take my pictures and then post images a month behind. This would make things easier. However, that lacked the ’live’ ‘now’ feel to me. So I will post a photo a day which will have been taken on the same day the previous week. So my first images have already been taken and I plan to develop them this coming Tuesday and then post the first of these on Wednesday.

My favourite camera will vary through the months and year. However, it will always be loaded with just enough film to get 7 images whilst wasting as little as possible. So any suggestions are most welcome. In the event there is an issue or failure on the part of the camera I will select an image from the other camera that I will be testing. So I will in fact be taking at least two photos a day. (Should I call this the 730 project then?) If both cameras fail…….🤔

I want to make the project as fluid and fun as possible allowing me to adapt to changing circumstances or possible road blocks. So I will continue to take photos of things I like, not imposing any themes or rules at this moment in time. I will try to keep a record of camera, lens used and shutter speed along with aperture used.

It will be interesting, at least to me, to see what impact this project has on me and my images. Maybe more importantly can I complete the year?

Looking forward to Wednesday 19th January when I post my first image, which can be found in the new tab 365 Film Project. I hope you will join me.
